Good to know
Session lasting 3 minutes of dry cold at -110°C.
The difference: whole-body cryotherapy with eddy-current cooling (Cyclon) that circulates the cold air evenly around the body.
The cold penetrates about 1mm into the skin and stimulates the nerve endings – including the vagus nerve, which runs along the cervical spine, is positively stimulated by the cold.
The stimulus on the skin travels to the brain and can trigger the positive effects.
Dry cold in general triggers the release of adrenaline and the happiness hormone dopamine, as well as corticoids, for regeneration.
Blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol and triglycerides can gradually normalize.
Even after the very first session you feel better, more at ease – a true mood booster. Already inside the cold chamber you can sense something happening in your body, and afterwards you feel reborn – an indescribable tingling on the skin, a feeling of warmth and a wonderful sense of relaxation follow.
You are professionally supervised throughout the session: we discuss your health situation beforehand, explain the process and stay in visual and verbal contact. We recommend 2–3 sessions per week.
Focus: Stress & Sleep
Constant stress keeps the body on high alert. The cold chamber radically interrupts that pattern: three minutes at -110 °C demand full attention, followed by a deep relaxation that many describe as a "reset". The release of endorphins noticeably lifts mood, while many guests from Apfeltrach report calmer, deeper sleep the night after. Practical tips for Apfeltrach
Guests travelling from Apfeltrach usually schedule two fixed appointments a week – often Tuesday and Friday. This rhythm has proven itself: enough stimulus for adaptation, enough spacing for recovery. In intense phases (competition, training camps, acute complaints), three to four sessions a week are also possible.
Whether it's a heatwave or snowfall in Unterallgäu district: the chamber is a constant -110 °C. Especially on hot summer days, guests from Apfeltrach find the three minutes particularly pleasant.
Sauna and cold chamber aren't opposites, but two sides of the same principle: short, strong stimuli that the body responds to with adaptation. Many guests from Apfeltrach combine both – sauna for relaxation, the cold chamber for recovery, immunity and metabolism.
Focus: Sport & Recovery
Anyone in Apfeltrach who plays football or handball, cycles, runs or trains with weights knows the problem: there's often too little time for real recovery between two sessions. Three minutes at -110 °C act like a turbo boost for recovery: the extreme dry cold constricts blood vessels, reduces signal transmission in the pain fibres and slows inflammatory processes after intense exertion. Once you step out, the vessels widen again and oxygen-rich blood floods the worked muscles. Many active people from Unterallgäu district schedule the session straight after training or the day after competing – with around 24 minutes' drive from Apfeltrach, that fits easily into a weekly routine.
For Apfeltrach that means: booking twice a week, most people notice the difference by the third week – with 24 minutes' travel the effort stays manageable.
From Apfeltrach we often hear that muscle soreness is far milder the next day. Those coming from Apfeltrach have often already tried physiotherapy or sauna and are looking for an extra stimulus. From Apfeltrach the quickest route runs über die B18 towards Memmingen.
