The process for guests from Buchenberg

Arrival & briefing
We calmly explain the process and answer all your questions before your first session.

Step out & feel it
Warmth, tingling, freshness: many feel the effect right after the very first session.

Good to know
Session lasting 3 minutes of dry cold at -110°C.
The difference: whole-body cryotherapy with eddy-current cooling (Cyclon) that circulates the cold air evenly around the body.
The cold penetrates about 1mm into the skin and stimulates the nerve endings – including the vagus nerve, which runs along the cervical spine, is positively stimulated by the cold.
The stimulus on the skin travels to the brain and can trigger the positive effects.
Dry cold in general triggers the release of adrenaline and the happiness hormone dopamine, as well as corticoids, for regeneration.
Blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol and triglycerides can gradually normalize.
Even after the very first session you feel better, more at ease – a true mood booster. Already inside the cold chamber you can sense something happening in your body, and afterwards you feel reborn – an indescribable tingling on the skin, a feeling of warmth and a wonderful sense of relaxation follow.
You are professionally supervised throughout the session: we discuss your health situation beforehand, explain the process and stay in visual and verbal contact. We recommend 2–3 sessions per week.
Focus: Immune System
Especially during the damp, cold months in Oberallgäu district, infections tend to pile up. The short, controlled cold stimulus at -110 °C acts as a training impulse for the body: circulation, blood vessels and the immune system are all challenged, without the body actually cooling down the way it would in an ice bath, because the cold is dry and lasts only three minutes. Many guests from Buchenberg therefore use the chamber as a fixed routine over the winter, often twice a week. The effect builds up over a series; individual sessions are more of an experience than a training stimulus.
Many guests from Oberallgäu district combine the appointment with shopping or a doctor's visit in Memmingen. From Buchenberg the route runs über die B12 Richtung Memmingen; after 30 minutes and 32 kilometres you're at the door. Questions about the trip from Buchenberg or about appointments? A quick call is enough. Locally speaking: Aus dem Buchenberger Hochtal ist die A7 schnell erreicht. Main focus for guests from Oberallgäu district: Recovery after mountain tours.
A fixed rhythm pays off more than single visits, especially from Buchenberg: the body adapts to the cold stimulus and responds faster.

Practical tips for Buchenberg
For a start from Buchenberg, we recommend a series of 10 sessions within four to five weeks. During this time the body gets used to the stimulus, and the effects on sleep, energy and complaints become more noticeable. After that, many guests maintain the level with one session a week.
Many people in Buchenberg start a series in autumn to get through the infection season well, and continue in spring for reasons of shape and skin. The chamber works regardless of weather and season.
There are lakes, streams and, in winter, plenty of cold around Buchenberg – yet the chamber is something different. Cold water cools the body's core and needs a long time to get used to. The dry cold at -110 °C works within three minutes through the skin's receptors, without the core cooling down. The stimulus is stronger, and the strain on circulation is shorter and more controlled.
