The process for guests from Kötz

We calmly explain the process and answer all your questions before your first session.

Step out & feel it

Good to know
Session lasting 3 minutes of dry cold at -110°C.
The difference: whole-body cryotherapy with eddy-current cooling (Cyclon) that circulates the cold air evenly around the body.
The cold penetrates about 1mm into the skin and stimulates the nerve endings – including the vagus nerve, which runs along the cervical spine, is positively stimulated by the cold.
The stimulus on the skin travels to the brain and can trigger the positive effects.
Dry cold in general triggers the release of adrenaline and the happiness hormone dopamine, as well as corticoids, for regeneration.
Blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol and triglycerides can gradually normalize.
Even after the very first session you feel better, more at ease – a true mood booster. Already inside the cold chamber you can sense something happening in your body, and afterwards you feel reborn – an indescribable tingling on the skin, a feeling of warmth and a wonderful sense of relaxation follow.
You are professionally supervised throughout the session: we discuss your health situation beforehand, explain the process and stay in visual and verbal contact. We recommend 2–3 sessions per week.
Focus: Immune System
Especially during the damp, cold months in Günzburg district, infections tend to pile up. The short, controlled cold stimulus at -110 °C acts as a training impulse for the body: circulation, blood vessels and the immune system are all challenged, without the body actually cooling down the way it would in an ice bath, because the cold is dry and lasts only three minutes. Many guests from Kötz therefore use the chamber as a fixed routine over the winter, often twice a week. The effect builds up over a series; individual sessions are more of an experience than a training stimulus.

We schedule every appointment so that you can arrive calmly. On a first visit we take extra time for a short conversation, answer open questions and show you the chamber before you step in. You then decide whether to use the full three minutes.
During the session one of us stays in visual contact and talks to you through the intercom. Afterwards we recommend movement – a few minutes on the bike or a short walk is enough to get your circulation going again.

In the chamber
Up to three minutes, stoppable at any time, always supervised.
Afterwards
Movement, a warm drink and a short chat about how it felt.
Practical tips for Kötz
Guests travelling from Kötz usually schedule two fixed appointments a week – often Tuesday and Friday. This rhythm has proven itself: enough stimulus for adaptation, enough spacing for recovery. In intense phases (competition, training camps, acute complaints), three to four sessions a week are also possible.
Many people in Kötz start a series in autumn to get through the infection season well, and continue in spring for reasons of shape and skin. The chamber works regardless of weather and season.
There are lakes, streams and, in winter, plenty of cold around Kötz – yet the chamber is something different. Cold water cools the body's core and needs a long time to get used to. The dry cold at -110 °C works within three minutes through the skin's receptors, without the core cooling down. The stimulus is stronger, and the strain on circulation is shorter and more controlled.
Focus: Work & Physical Strain
Trades, care work, farming, production, shift work: many people in Günzburg district work physically – or spend the day sitting at a desk in a forced posture. Both leave their mark on muscles and joints. Whole-body cryotherapy provides a short, highly effective recovery impulse that fits easily into your evening without much time investment. From Kötz it's only around 42 minutes – including changing and the session, you're done in about 30 minutes.
