Many first-time guests from Pforzen underestimate how uncomplicated a session is. No long preparation, no wet towel, no warm-up phase: you go in dry and come out dry. Here's what the process looks like in detail.
Arrival & briefing
We calmly explain the process and answer all your questions before your first session.
Getting ready
Swimwear, hat, gloves, socks and a face mask – your skin stays dry and free of creams.
3 minutes at -110 °C

Step out & feel it
Warmth, tingling, freshness: many feel the effect right after the very first session.

Good to know
Session lasting 3 minutes of dry cold at -110°C.
The difference: whole-body cryotherapy with eddy-current cooling (Cyclon) that circulates the cold air evenly around the body.
The cold penetrates about 1mm into the skin and stimulates the nerve endings – including the vagus nerve, which runs along the cervical spine, is positively stimulated by the cold.
The stimulus on the skin travels to the brain and can trigger the positive effects.
Dry cold in general triggers the release of adrenaline and the happiness hormone dopamine, as well as corticoids, for regeneration.
Blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol and triglycerides can gradually normalize.
Even after the very first session you feel better, more at ease – a true mood booster. Already inside the cold chamber you can sense something happening in your body, and afterwards you feel reborn – an indescribable tingling on the skin, a feeling of warmth and a wonderful sense of relaxation follow.
You are professionally supervised throughout the session: we discuss your health situation beforehand, explain the process and stay in visual and verbal contact. We recommend 2–3 sessions per week.
Focus: Work & Physical Strain
Trades, care work, farming, production, shift work: many people in Ostallgäu district work physically – or spend the day sitting at a desk in a forced posture. Both leave their mark on muscles and joints. Whole-body cryotherapy provides a short, highly effective recovery impulse that fits easily into your evening without much time investment. From Pforzen it's only around 37 minutes – including changing and the session, you're done in about 30 minutes.

Please note: we cannot promise any cure – every body responds differently to cold therapy. Results also depend on regular sessions of at least 2–3 times a week over a longer period.

Practical tips for Pforzen
For a start from Pforzen, we recommend a series of 10 sessions within four to five weeks. During this time the body gets used to the stimulus, and the effects on sleep, energy and complaints become more noticeable. After that, many guests maintain the level with one session a week.
Many people in Pforzen start a series in autumn to get through the infection season well, and continue in spring for reasons of shape and skin. The chamber works regardless of weather and season.
Sauna and cold chamber aren't opposites, but two sides of the same principle: short, strong stimuli that the body responds to with adaptation. Many guests from Pforzen combine both – sauna for relaxation, the cold chamber for recovery, immunity and metabolism.
Focus: Metabolism & Shape
In the cold chamber, the body works to warm itself against -110 °C – and burns energy in the process. For guests from Pforzen, the chamber is therefore often part of a bigger plan involving exercise, diet and recovery. The cold stimulus activates brown fat tissue, which turns energy directly into heat, and noticeably gets circulation going. A single visit doesn't replace a calorie deficit – but 2 to 3 sessions a week over several weeks set off a metabolic impulse that many describe as more everyday energy and fewer cravings. Guests from Ostallgäu district who come regularly get the best value with the 10-session or 10-session package.
Guests from Pforzen mainly report two effects: a clear head in the evening and calmer sleep the following night.
The drive from Pforzen takes about 37 minutes without traffic. Those coming from Pforzen have often already tried physiotherapy or sauna and are looking for an extra stimulus. From Pforzen we often hear that muscle soreness is far milder the next day.
