Your visit begins with a warm welcome and a detailed explanation of the process. You will change into appropriate attire: dry swimwear or shorts, along with the protective gear we provide, which includes gloves, socks, clogs, and a mask to protect your mouth and nose.
Our studio uses a modern, two-chamber system with vortex cooling. You will first step into a pre-chamber, set to a less intense temperature of around -60 °C. You will spend about 30 seconds here, allowing your body to begin its acclimatisation. This preparation makes the transition into the main chamber much smoother.
Next, you step into the main cold chamber. The air here is a crisp -110 °C. This may sound extreme, but because the air is completely dry, it feels more like a deep, penetrating cold rather than the damp chill of a winter's day. A trained member of our team is with you at all times, communicating through an intercom and observing you through a large window.
You will remain in the main chamber for about two to three minutes. During this time, you are encouraged to move slowly, perhaps by walking in a small circle, to keep your circulation active. The intense cold stimulates temperature receptors all over your skin, sending a powerful cascade of signals to your brain.
When your time is up, you will step back out. The feeling upon exiting the chamber is often described as exhilarating. You might feel a pleasant tingling sensation as your skin rapidly rewarms and blood rushes back to the surface.
