When you arrive for your appointment, you will first change into appropriate attire. This means dry swimwear or shorts and a top, along with thick socks, slippers, gloves, a headband to cover your ears, and a medical mask to warm the air you breathe. We provide most of these protective items for you.

The process involves two stages. You will first spend about 30 seconds in a pre-chamber set to a less extreme temperature, around -60 °C. This allows your body to acclimatise before you step into the main chamber. Once inside the main chamber, at -110 °C, you are encouraged to keep moving gently, perhaps walking slowly in a circle and turning your hands. The air is entirely dry and still, thanks to the vortex cooling system, which feels like a crisp, tingling sensation on your skin rather than a harsh, penetrating cold. A trained staff member is with you throughout, observing you through a large window and communicating with you.

After just a few minutes, the session is over. As you step out, you will notice your skin is red and feels intensely alive. This is followed by a deeply pleasant sensation of warmth spreading through your body as your circulation kicks back into high gear.
